How long have you been in business?
We've been in business for 26 years, since 1982. We outgrew our original location at the Westgate Shopping Center, where we enjoyed 17 years. Now we've tripled our space on N. Louisiana Ave. with more convenient parking for our customers.
What is your primary product or service?
Our primary service is the repair of photographic and digital camera equipment and other optical instruments.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
After graduating college with a background in electronics and during a slow economy, I learned camera repair through home study. And seeing the need for reliable, dependable, cost-effective repair work in the area, I opened the Westgate shop in 1982.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are the only on-site camera repair shop in Western North Carolina, doing a whole range of repairs from replacing battery covers to replacing shutters and LCDs.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our expansion has been limited by finding qualified photo technicians. We have no plans to expand at this time.
Provide detailed directions to your location
We are located at 404 N. Louisiana Ave. Coming from downtown Asheville, go west on Patton Ave. to the 4th traffic light past the river and turn right onto N. Louisiana at the Wachovia Bank building. We are at the top of the hill at the first traffic light. Go to our website for an interactive map.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept Mastercard, Visa, and Discover cards - Paypal, personal checks and cash.
Which areas do you service?
Our original territory covered Western North Carolina, but now we receive equipment from all over the USA via the internet and through exposure on our website: www.crystalcamera.com
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Our LLC company is family owned and run by George and Deborah Hall.
What are your hours of operation?
We're open Monday through Friday 9AM to 5PM, closed 12-1PM for lunch.
