How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I am a third generation workroom owner/operator. I was brought up in my little Polish grandmother's workroom since infancy playing house with my sister underneath her cutting table while she made curtains for J.L. Hudson Company in Beverly Hills Michigan. I began sewing at the age of eight. Since that time I have always enjoyed and had desires to sew, whether that was custom draperies or custom wedding dresses or any thing in between. The more difficult the project the better.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our work generally ranges from mid to high end custom work and we concentrate on tailored finished work. For example, a typical curtain shop will provide a treatment with the chosen fabric and a lining choice. We will add facings, interlinings and blackout interlinings to make the difference between department store ready made quality and custom tailored.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One location and we are slowly expanding as the need arises.
