How long have you been in business?
Barking Mountain Pet Styles was established in 2016, after 5 years of grooming the dogs of Asheville within a salon environment.
What is your primary product or service?
We provide luxury house call grooming service, mainly focusing on Full Service Baths and Full Groomings, for dogs 40 lbs or less.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Our Owner/Groomer Rachel Mongno became interested in the Pet Styling industry in 2011, when she began working as a Groomer's Assistant in a locally owned salon. After apprenticing under a Certified Master Groomer, Rachel began styling the dogs of Asheville, and never looked back!
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Foremost, Barking Mountain Pet Styles is an In-Home grooming experience - we don't ask you to make two trips to drop off and pick up your pet, and we don't ask your dog to be comfortable in a loud, busy, crowded salon. We bring the salon into our client's homes, and we work with pets where they feel safest and most secure, reducing stress and fear-based behavior concerns. We also use all natural products instead of shampoos or conditioners filled with chemicals, and our groomer is certified in Pet CPR/First Aid through PetTech.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Barking Mountain Pet Styles has a single groomer, so you know that your pet is going to see the same person during every appointment! This helps them to bond with our groomer, so that they may be more comfortable with each groom. We pride ourselves on "Quality Over Quantity", and our goal is to provide the best service possible to the pets entrusted to our care.
Provide detailed directions to your location
Because we do not offer in-salon grooming, we do not have a store-front location. We bring the service to you, so you never have to worry about finding us, locating safe/easy parking, or getting stuck in traffic with an anxious pet in the car!
What type of payments do you accept?
Barking Mountain Pet Styles accepts cash and credit/debit card (via a mobile swipe device that uses the most secure network available to large retailers - our client's privacy/security is important to us). We do not accept checks.

Rachel Mongno, Barking Mountain Pet Styles Owner/Groomer, runs all of our daily operations.
What are your hours of operation?
Our "office hours" (phone/email, etc.) are from 8:30 AM to 6 PM, Wednesday - Sunday. Appointment times generally range from 9 AM to 3 PM. Barking Mountain Pet Styles is closed Monday - Tuesday.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The best compliment we've received from a pet parent was that they could tell how much the pet loved seeing us. We love to hear about how happily our furry friends react when they know they're about to be pampered!
